Boggy Creek Airboat Rides offers 17 passenger airboat ride tours at either 30 minutes or 1 hour in length. There are private tours, sunset tours, night tours, and what do you know there’s a tour for those who want to learn how to drive an airboat.
Each airboat tour is a unique experience with no two tours being the same. Sunset tour has very limited seats so make sure you reserve early. Private tours require a minimum of 4 passengers with a maximum of 6 passengers.
You’ll feel as if you’re flying through the wetlands as you experience speeds of up to 45 mph while shooting between walls of tall grass. Airboats can drive through areas that most other boats can’t. You’ll experience the freedom of the lake and being one with the environment.
There are certain times of the year and day that you can have the best chance to see the most wildlife. When it’s hot, we recommend early in the morning before 10:00 am or at night. During times when the weather drops less than 60 degrees, it’s best to come in the middle of the day while it’s at the warmest.
The longer your airboat tour, the better of a chance you will have to see wildlife. The one-hour ride will take you further into the swamps. Hour tours are available by reservation, 30 minute tours are on a first-come, first-served basis.
The only tour that guarantees an alligator sighting is at night. Guaranteed at night, since alligators are nocturnal, and come out to feed at night. Night tours do not go out in weather colder than 50 degrees.
Life vests and hearing protection are provided. Children 6 and under are required to wear a life vest. There is no minimum age or height requirement but be aware that some small children have a problem with the noise.
There is a complimentary wheelchair for the park. The park is handicap accessible, but you are not able to bring a wheelchair on the boat.
It all began 24 years ago at a little known fish camp on Lake Tohopekaliga called East Lake Fish Camp. Airboating on the lake was just a way of having fun on the weekends with family and friends. Till the family lent enough money to purchase the first six-passenger airboat in 1994.
In the beginning, they worked 7 days a week, 16 hours a day for over 2 years. Living walking distance from the Fish Camp they would regularly bring home airboat visitors for dinner. Seriously how cool is that!
It took years of talking to journalists, travel agents and tourists to open up awareness that the headwaters to the Florida Everglades start in Orlando. They were finally able to convince visitors to give them a chance and experience the real Florida at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.
In 2016 they changed their name to Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures and made quite a few additions to the park such as a Native American Village, Gem Stone, and Fossil Mine, Alligator Oasis, covered pavilions, tiki bar, swamp photo shack and a great restaurant called Boggy Bottom BBQ.
