When you think of Epcot, of course, the Spaceship Earth geodesic sphere icon instantly comes to mind. Yep, that big silver ball is a ride.
Experience Christmas from around the world at Disney’s Epcot World Showcase. Every year costumed performers will share their holiday traditions. A favorite tradition of mine is the Candlelight Processional.
Some of my favorite special events in all of Disney World are held here in Epcot. That’s the International Food & Wine Festival, International Flower & Garden Festival and the Epcot International Festival of the Arts.
When I think of Epcot these memories come to mind… IllumiNations, Mission: Space, Soarin’ Around the World… Candlelight Processional, shopping, food, live entertainment from around the globe at the Epcot World Showcase is the top attraction for me.
Character experience at Epcot abounds. Mickey Mouse, Baymax, Pluto, Joy & Sadness, Ralph and Vanellope in Epcot Future World. Anna and Elsa, Alice in Wonderland, Belle, Daisy, Donald, Mulan, Jasmine, and Snow White can be found in the World Showcase.
Let’s start with the Future World. For if you are an early riser they are the first to be open. Epcot World Showcase opens later.
If you are like me and Soarin’ is high on your list of attractions you will want to head there first. What makes this a top attraction at Epcot is the fact it’s perfect for all ages. Just what Walt wanted. Get in line or better yet reserve a FastPass in advance.
Mission: Space. I’m wimpy now that I’m older, so it’s the green team for me. Not that this is a wimpy ride by no means. For a more intense ride, choose the orange team.
Need for speed? On to Test Track. Speeds up to 65mph. Where else can you design a virtual concept vehicle and take it for a spin?
Ready to get out of the rain, cold or heat? Maybe just to get off your feet? Take a seat. Enjoy a Disney & Pixar short film.
Livin’ with the Land informative but not boring. Yes, really!
The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Board your clamobile and join your undersea pals from “Finding Nemo”.
Hey dude! Don’t forget Turtle Talk with Crush. Cool interactive show the kids will love. Totally Awesome.
So you are hungry? My favorite restaurant here in Future World is the Garden Grill located in the Land. Plus, if you are looking for characters Garden Grill restaurant is the spot.
Club Cool is fun. Taste different sodas from around the world. Have the camera ready for the faces of those brave enough to try them. I said taste, not tasty.
Ready for the World Showcase? Oh, I am.
Come explore the Epcot World Showcase countries. Mexico, Norway, Germany, Italy, the American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada.
While at Epcot, discover different cultures. Each pavilion is staffed by cast members from that particular region. So take time to strike up a conversation.
Traveling with children? World Showcase Kidcot Fun Stops presents kids with stamps so they can decorate their own personal souvenirs within each country. Keeps them entertained at Epcot. There’s also a Passport Kit that you can purchase. Have it stamped and signed by a cast member in each country.
Phineas and Ferb Showcase Adventure is an interactive game that’s fun for the whole family. The best thing, it’s free.
All the little girls want to meet Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. Off to Frozen Ever After through Arendelle. There’s a meet and greet with Anna & Elsa in their cozy summer cabin also located in Norway.
You will enjoy the live entertainment and street performers at Epcot. Matsuriza Japanese Taiko drummers, British Revolution, Voices of Liberty, Jeweled Dragon acrobats, and that guy in France. The Serveur Amusant balancing the chairs. Way cool!
Epcot restaurant favorites of mine in the Epcot World Showcase include the following:
Norway Akershur Royal Banquet Hall for storybook dining. Sommerfest for a brat on the go. I say on the go because the seating is very limited. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can share someone’s table with them. Were’ not. Make new friends.
Teppan Edo for hibachi-style. Nice show and meal. Family favorite.
Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada. My mouth is watering for their steaks. Plus, I got to get my cheese soup fix.
Rose and Crown Pub on the water. The prime spot for viewing Illuminations.
Didn’t make an advance reservation? Ah, shame on you. Don’t fret try the fast food, Yorkshire County Fish Shop.
But seriously, if there is a restaurant on your must-try list. You really do need to make advance dining reservations. When I’m talking advance, I mean soon as advance dining reservations open.
What about drinking your way around the Epcot World Showcase? Seriously, it has been done. I haven’t! But if I did, I would start with one of those margaritas from the frozen margarita stand between Mexico and Norway. Oh yeah!
Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is the nighttime show at Epcot World Showcase. It’s a moving display of fireworks, lasers, and music. Imparts a message of hope and unity. The perfect way to end your day at Epcot. No one does fireworks like Disney. Catch it while you can. The show will run through the end of the summer 2019.
