Islands of Adventure is right next door to Universal Studios Florida in the Universal Orlando Resort. Made up of seven unique themed areas. Seuss Landing, the Lost Continent, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Toon Lagoon, and Marvel Super Hero Island. The rides range from kiddie rides to intense simulators and thrilling roller coasters.
You will find the best water rides here at Islands of Adventure. Jurassic Park River Adventures, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and the one you will get the most soaked on is Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.
Two full-service restaurants located here are Mythos in the Lost Continent and Confisco Grille at the Port of Entry. Also, wildly popular is the Three Broomsticks in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Along with other counter food restaurants.
Port of Entry
Port of Entry is where you will find stroller and wheelchair rentals, first aid, lockers, lost and found, etc…
Save your shopping for the end of the day here at Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure Trading Company is a large shop with a sampling of all the Islands. Harry Potter fans can find a large selection here. If you shopped elsewhere and had the items sent to the front of the park…this is the place to pick them up.
Seuss Landing brings Dr. Seuss books to life. Fun for all ages. Especially, of course, the little ones. For a photo climb on top of Horton’s egg. You will find meet and greets here at Seuss Landing. Check your map for scheduled times during your visit.
At Christmas time this is where you will find the musical show Grinchmas, Along, with many Whos from Who-ville.
The rides here are great fun. Not just for the children but everyone. I personally love the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train ride. The Caro-Seuss-el… no other merry-go-round like that one.
Don’t forget the shops. The Cat’s trademark hat can be found here along with the actual cat in the hat. Plus the ever so popular Thing 1 and Thing 2 and on and on shirts. Of course Dr. Seuss books. The list goes on and on…
The Lost Continent
Great photo op when you enter the Lost Continent. There’s a statue of a griffin in armor. This is a section where you will find plenty of picture-taking opportunities. Jaw-dropping attention to detail is really something here in the Lost Continent as is their neighbor the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Don’t put your camera away yet. You must check out Mythos. Even if, you are not eating here. Why aren’t you? Anyway, at least go in and check it out. Snap some pics. It’s really cool!
This land which was once grand has been taken over by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Only one attraction here, Poseidon’s Fury along with the Mystic Fountain. Sadly, picture taking is really all that is left here. But the photo ops and lunch at Mythos make it worth the stop.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Looking for the top Orlando attraction here at Universal Orlando Resort? You’ve found it!
Discover the magic of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. From the moment you step in you will be immersed in Harry Potter world. It’s truly amazing. You will just stand in awe.

The shops have a wide array of wizardry items. Purchase your first wand at Ollivanders. Send a card from the Owl Post. Universal Orlando Resort is the only place to enjoy a butterbeer, pumpkin juice, chocolate frogs, ….
Pry yourself away from the shops to check out the attractions. Take a ride past Hagrid’s hut on the Flight of the Hippogriff. This is a family-friendly roller coaster. But, the Harry Potter ride that everyone is buzzing about is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Here you will soar with Harry and his pals above Hogwarts castle. After first, exploring the castle of course.
I can and have just spent the day here. A lot to see on their first visit for the die-hard Harry Potter fan. Such as myself. Between photo ops, window shopping, shows, attractions, riding attractions over and over. There is so much here to see it’s like a Harry Potter theme park. Seriously you can spend that much time here.
But you must leave. You have to catch a ride on the Hogwarts Express to visit Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida (park to park ticket needed).
The arched entrance everyone will recognize. Reminds you of the theme park John Hammond was building in the movies. Look out for the dinosaurs. You hear them around you. You may have an encounter with a raptor. Great area for your young dinosaur fans. Everyone will love the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Water rides aren’t for you? Have a meal at the Thunder Falls Terrace where you can view the ride. Fun without getting wet.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong
Everything is massive at this attraction. For those of you who remember Kongfrontation. This is not the same. Impressive animated 3D attraction. King Kong is the next generation theme park level. You might want to take this in more than once to get a different interpretation. There are five different audio-animatronic drivers.
Looking for your favorite character from the Sunday funnies? This is the spot at Islands of Adventure. Either in a sculpture or in person. The main drag is Comic Strip Lane. There’s also Sweet Haven.
This is where you find all the Popeye related attractions. Here in Toon Lagoon, you will find the real soakers of Orlando water parks. Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.
There are character meet and greets. Looking for Popeye or Betty Boop? You will find them here. There are some other fun photo ops with cutouts that put you in the comic strips.
Marvel Super Hero Island

Home of the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk coaster to name a couple. Spider-Man is an outstanding 3-D motion simulator ride. Right from the comic books, meet and greet with Spider-Man and the Marvel Super Heroes. Speaking of comics, of course, there’s a shop to purchase them.
Dining at Cafe 4? That means dining with your favorite Marvel characters. No true fan wants to miss this.
