This blog is a quick update on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that is coming August 29, 2019, to Walt Disney World Resort.  Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will not be open, it will open at a later date.

Disney is in the process of building Batuu. Batuu is the home of the Black Spire Outpost. The Black Spire Outpost is the location of the upcoming Walt Disney World Star Wars land.

Be prepared to be immersed in Star Wars. Dive deeper through the use of the Play Disney Parks app if you desire. Trust me this will be hard to get in, and even harder to leave.

Reservations Now Open For Select Experiences

If you are planning on visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as early as August 29, 2019, or soon after. You might want to make reservations for these experiences. Or you may lose out on experiencing them.   These three galactic experiences include Savi’s Workshop, Droid Depot, and Oga’s Cantina.

Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and are highly recommended there will be limited walk-up availability.

Savi’s Workshop

Here you will customize your legendary lightsaber, customizing them with various hilts, accessories and the all-important kyber crystals.

Guests are allowed to bring one friend (free of charge) to observe the experience.

A credit card guarantee of $199.99 per person is required to reserve your spot. Cancellations can be made up to one day prior, canceling later or no-shows will be charged and forfeit the $199.00 per person.

Droid Depot

You can build your custom droid companion at Black Spire Outpost at Droid Depot.  New soon to be owners will pick pieces and parts off a conveyor belt to construct either an R-series or BB-series astromech droid unit. Then they can interact with elements throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Guests are allowed to bring one friend (free of charge) to share in the joy of the build experience.

A credit card guarantee of $99.99 per person is required to reserve your spot. Cancellations can be made up to one day prior, canceling later or no-shows will be charged and forfeit the $99.99 per person.

Oga’s Cantina

Oga’s Cantina is the stop to knock back some cold ones with smugglers, bounty hunters, and weary travelers alike.  This notorious watering hole is known for their out of this world beverages.

Oga’s Cantina serves mainly beverages but does offer some snacks. Drink prices range from $4 – $18.  There is a maximum of 2 drinks and a time limit of 45 minutes per party.

To lock in your reservation a Credit card guarantee is required. Check-in is up to 15 minutes before your reserved time slot.  Cancellations can be made up to one day prior.



Star Wars Fare

Along with the prior mentioned Oga’s Cantina, we are now aware of these other eateries.

Other dining choices include Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Interesting name with unusual dishes to match. Dishes are brought to you from Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs who was a chef at Maz Kanata’s castle.

Ronto Roasters is where a recycled pod racer engine cooks up some exotic meats for tasting. The spit is turned by a former smelter droid. 8D-J8.

There’s Kat Saka’s Kettle for sweet, salty popcorn with a touch of spice. You will find them at one of the many street market vendors.

Don’t forget to get your taste of blue or green milk from the Milk Stand. Comes directly from Bubo Wamba Family Farms.

 

Star Wars Merchandise

There will be many rare finds indeed throughout the galaxy. Browse through the Outpost stores and the wares of the local market vendors.

Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities is where you will find the rare valued items from across the galaxy.

Savi’s Workshop for hand-built lightsabers. You will build and be able to customize your own lightsaber. I have got to get me one of these! Yes, you will also meet up with the secret group called the Gatherers. They are dedicated to restoring balance to the galaxy and will share their knowledge with you.

Droid Depot is a must-visit so you can build your actual own astromech droid in Mubo’s workshop. After sharing your journey of Walt Disney World Star Wars land with your droid, take them home with you. How cool is that?

First Order Cargo is a spaceport hangar for the First Order. It’s also offering up First Order officers uniforms, gear, and supplies.

Resistance Supply is a makeshift stall where you will find Resistance members offering up uniforms, gear, and supplies.

Toydarian Wares, ran by a Toydarian vendor, selling toys of course.

Creature Stall in the market will sell you interesting Star Wars critters to take home.

Black Spire Outfitters for clothing and the Jewels of Bith for accessories.

 

Coca-Cola In Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Specially designed Coca-Cola bottles can be exclusively found at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.    This new land has been carefully crafted to ensure a truly immersive experience all the way down to the Coke bottles.

Disney has had a long relationship with Coca-Cola, dating back to 1955 with the opening of Disneyland and the Coke  “Refreshment Corner” on Main Street.

These are sure to be a hot item throughout the galaxy.  Grab yours before they are gone.

 

In Conclusion

You will need a valid theme park admission ticket.  No reservations are required at this time.   This will be the new must-see top Orlando attraction.  Please note: capacity will be limited.   Not to be negative but you may not be able to enter.  This will depend on guest demand and other factors.  Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is going to be hugely popular, to say the least.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be available during Extra Magic Hours for guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.  FastPass+ will not be offered for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Park tickets, vacation packages, Annual passes, or Walt Disney World Resort hotel stays do not guarantee admission into the new Walt Disney World Star Wars land.
